SONGS OF MY PEOPLE, by Peter Garcia and the Garcia Brothers. San Juan Pueblo, in northern New Mexico, has been an active ceremonial center for seven hundred years. The music on this recording is performed by male elders who sing in a low register with a penetrating sound. Includes drums, gourd shakers, metal bells, deer hooves and turtle shell rattles.
